International/Domestic Adoption

This is a very important decision. Let our trained staff help guide you.
The Institute for Children and Families welcomes parents who have adopted overseas or domestically, to take advantage of our services. So many children suffer from trauma and attachment difficulties prior to coming to live with their adoptive families. Remember, this is a big adjustment for the child and the family. You should not feel isolated or, as many of our parents say, feeling as though they are "crazy" or "misunderstood." We can offer services to your child, the child's siblings and parents. We provide comprehensive treatment to families traveling from Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, New York, Philadelphia and the whole North East region of Pennsylvania.

ICF addresses the concerns parents have when bringing their child home from an orphanage. Approximately 85% of all adopted children have spent significant years in an orphanage.

We also encourage parents considering adoption to consult with one of our therapists about expectations, concerns and services available to them.
